Junior kit advice

Choosing cricket kit for juniors can be a minefield, with knowing what to buy and what size etc, and not getting swayed by what a childs favourite player is using, or by the colours,  so if you need any advice, please feel free to get in touch with Ross

Kit needed for Hardball Cricket

The club has spare hardball kit for the kids to use.

Ideally everyone will need a box/Abdo guard for batting in the nets as its better to have your own, also making sure the kids wear the appropriate clothing/ underwear to keep this in place.

Full hardball kit will consist of:
Batting Pads
Batting Gloves
Helmet
Box

I also recommend a thigh pad set which covers the gap between the top of the batting pads and the waist, as this is an area that gets hit quite a bit, but is often overlooked by junior cricketers early on.

The video below from Lydia Greenway, shows how to put on all the kit

Chosing the correct bat

Size and most importantly weight are the key factors to chosing a bat.

The below size guide will give you a rough idea based on height. The video from B3 cricket offers some great advice on how to choose the correct size and weight.
